Main MRX Features?
MRX is a revolutionary email management system that works with any existing email server or client. It uses a single centralised address book, which is accessible from anywhere in the world to authorised users. It uses open protocols which, in plain terms, means will work with most existing mail or directory systems.
In summary, MRX provides a mail database, a mail archive, a workgroup mail merge facility and a centralised address book, Below we describe these main features as well as the general features of the Mail Manager and Mail Robot processes.
The mail database allows workgroup users to share "business" mail without any hassle. Users can still manage their own filing of mail, but MRX will copy the mail fields into a fast, web-accessible database. It is therefore trivial to view all the mail to or from a single client company, no matter who is the sender or recipient. The MRX web front-end is an incredibly efficient and intuitive way of locating mail, companies and contacts in fractions of a second. Attachments and personal mail are not normally stored in the database. "Personal" mail can be totally ignored, it can be filed along with business mail, or it can be directed into a "drop vault" which can only be accessed with special authority. Attachments are placed in the mail archive and can be downloaded on demand.
The mail archive provides an unalterable copy of all business mail. Each archived mail is a clone of the original mail, complete with all headers and attachments. Not only does the archive meet with legal requirements, it is fully searchable. Because it holds all mail attachments, it provides the perfect repository for large “jobs” and prevents them cluttering up local or mail server storage. With MRX, retrieving mail from archives is simplicity itself. Unlike systems that rely on file archiving, recovering an MRX archived mail message does not involve any mail server downtime.
The MRX email merge gets every last ounce out of a company’s address book resource. It offers an extremely easy way for users to create sophisticated personalised mailing campaigns in a fraction of the time they could achieve it any other way. Mail can be plaintext or graphic, and each email merged with contact data to provide a highly personalised communication. Graphics can remain on the server, so emails are small, and it is easy to track which mails have bounced, who has read them and who wishes to be removed from the mailing list. What is more, because MRX is a server-based product, many employees can contribute to the same mailing campaign. For example, a newsletter could contain many sections written each by different specialist staff.
The centralised address book makes mail users independent of address books stored on their personal workstation. It means they can sit down at any workstation, anywhere in the world, and access the company address book. If a contact address changes, then it changes for all users, and there is no need to edit individual address books. Users can still maintain their own private address books, and mails to and from contacts in private address books remain strictly private. The address book can be shared across several mail servers.
Other Mail Robot Features
Processing criteria – MRX processes only mail that contains an address that appears in the contact directory. Contacts can be hidden from the (LDAP) contact directory using the “hide from LDAP” option. Additionally, a “reject” option can be set to unconditionally reject mail from specific addresses.
Database Archive – viewable and searchable from a native Mac OS X, Windows or web based client application.
IMAP archive - MRX contains an inbuilt IMAP server. This is used as a secondary archive that may be accessed from any mail client, so there is no need to use the MRX client application to view mail. The additional benefit of the MRX IMAP server is that message attachments can be (optionally) withheld from the database, and simply retrieved from the IMAP server when required.
Job threading – MRX provides a scheme to create job threads identified by a unique identifier
Mailshot Manager Features
Setup – via a native Mac OS X or Windows client application. (Web front end in development).
Mail format - Plaintext, html, with or without attachments
Personalisation -When constructing mail body, users can personalise content using tags, such as [[contact]], [company]], [[date]], etc
Html mail builder - Html mail builder is completely table driven. User must provide headings, sub-headings, section text, and section pictures. It is also possible to manually edit html source.
Proofing - Mails can be viewed immediately in local browser, sent to author or a pre-defined group of proofers.
Logging - Every mail item sent event is logged in a text file and also on the contact record.
Scheduling – Mailshots can be sent as quickly as the server allows, or spread over any arbitrary time period – e.g.a week.
Interruption – Mailshots can be interrupted and recommenced at a future time without duplicating mails already sent. E.g. in event of a hardware failure.
